5/21/22: Zach Aaron & Meredith Crawford

saxtonjana

It' has been quite the winter for our part of Texas and we're ready for spring. We're ready to throw off the shoes and enjoy the outdoors. That means it is time to PARTY! We are excited to launch our spring events with the return of Zach Aaron who will be accompanied by Meredith Crawford.

Zach Aaron - writes songs, rides broncs, enjoys sarcasm and cold beer. His résumé is long and varied, but there's a common thread of honest, straightforward, blue-collar work that strings the various jobs together: construction, a stint in the Air Force, fence building, oil-field roughnecking, custom leatherworking. You could say the same about the list of influences that seem to inform his songwriting. There are plenty of precursors you can pick out, and more than a few of them come from the grand tradition of storytelling Lone Star troubadours. A turn of phrase might remind you of Ray Wylie Hubbard, Townes Van Zandt, Guy Clark, or Steve Earle. His vocal delivery might variously bring to mind Billy Joe Shaver, Hayes Carll, or James McMurtry. Meredith Crawford

“Meredith Crawford has successfully taken something with a very definitive shape and made it seem shapeless. Historically speaking, that kind of dreamy musical witchcraft has only been successfully accomplished by the likes of timeless wonder-women like Patsy Cline, Stevie Nicks, or the queen: Aretha Franklin; herself.” She was singing harmonies at the young age of 10 from the pew surrounded by strangers, to the Opry circuit around Texas by 16, and had fronted 3 bands by the age of 27. Just shy of 30, she has written over 200 songs, opened for Texas acts such as Hayes Carll, Sunny Sweeney, and Shiny Ribs, and has won several awards including Entertainer of the Year, Female Vocalist of the Year (2 years running), Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Songwriter of the Year for East Texas. A dark horse in the running, her pinnacle of musical strength is perched upon raw, lyrical honesty delivered through painfully elegant vocals. www.meredithcrawfordmusic.com
